Boxing Day 2007

Before we hit the sliding hill, we devoured a terrific brunch! Mike made panettone french toast, Chris made waffles, Dad made bacon, and Jim made eggs benedict! YUMMY!

A perfect day for sliding: a little fresh snow, mild temperature, and some sunshine too!

Baby Noah was so cute!

Of course, there had to be a virtual boxing tournament on Boxing Day! Ethan surprised us with his boxing talent, sweat and all!

Christmas Celebration!

On Christmas Eve, we hosted our traditional appie evening after the Christmas Eve service. Lots of food, kids and fun!

We had a great time opening the gifts under the tree on Christmas morning!

The whole family gathered at Grandma and Grandpa's later in the afternoon to exchange gifts and enjoy a fabulous turkey dinner! I think the Barbie and horse and carriage was Jim's favorite gift!

We tired ourselves and tried to work off dinner by playing with Chris' new Wii game! We finally left around midnight, a late night for Ethan, Josh and Hannah!

Christmas Concerts 2007

The Cedars Concert took place on December 14th. Maren and Alexandra were brave enough to go up together and perform in their preschool Christmas songs! Maren was quite upset when it was time to leave the stage and wanted to go back up to sing again...drama queen! Ethan sang with his kindergarten class, along with Josh and Micah!

The CHBC Sunday School Concert took place two days later on December 16th. Full of shepherds, sheep, angels, and more, the kids put on a cute show! We're wondering if Maren's personality will ever live up to the costume? The grand finale was more of a shouted rendition by a certain group of 4&5 year old boys, who shall remain nameless! Lots of fun!

First Snow-November 2

We got busy in the first snowfall of the year and shovelled and made a snowman friend! The next morning, the sun came out with a clear blue sky and glistening snow, it was a beautiful day!

Trick or Treat!

We carved our pumpkins in the afternoon, including the little ones that Grandpa grew in the garden!

The Princess Leah costume was pulled together at the last minute and the kids went to collect candy from a couple houses on our street! Afterwards we removed costumes and went up to the pumpkin carnival at the church, where candy and cupcakes were abundant!

Baby Noah got dressed up in his sweet pea costume, fresh from the garden!

Fall Things Orange

Maren's preschool went on a field trip to a farm where we watched carrots being harvested, picked pumpkins and raspberries, and tasted lots of yummy fall treats! Little did we know that a black bear was present the entire time having a snooze in a tree just above! It was great!

Afternoon at the Park!

Papa Jim and Uncle Andrew came to visit us and we spent some time at Fort George Park on a beautiful fall afternoon.

Back to School!

Ethan is ready for his first day of kindergarten and Maren for her first day of preschool!

We All Survived!!!!!!!

Yesterday, I took on the daunting task of watching 6 kids for the day and amazingly enough it went so well! Josh and Hannah, and Hope and Micah came over and we filled the day with bike riding, a trip to the park, some webkinz, a princess DVD, and more! I even got my front blinds cleaned!!! It went so well, I just might do it again, but maybe that would be tempting fate! Really, they're a bunch of great kids and we had lots of fun! (really, I didn't sedate them!)

Crab and Corn Feast

On Saturday, August 18th, we all gathered to enjoy the bounty from the sea that Mike and Joe brought back from their trip on the Rosemary T. Everyone ate ridiculous amounts of crab and corn and thoroughly enjoyed every morsel of it!

Gone Fishing!

We did some family fishing off the sinking dock at Squaw Lake at Crooked River Provincial Park! The kids had tons of fun and Jim thought Maren's Barbie fishing rod was awesome! Maren was simply thrilled to have caught 4 worms!!! No fish today but I don't think anyone minded!

Like Bumps On A Log

On our trip to Bear Lake, we walked in to Squaw Lake and discovered it was frog season! The place was alive with frogs, like the plaque of frogs in Egypt! We just couldn't help getting close and peering at them! Be careful where you step!

Don't Let Shuswap Die!

We had an informal, last minute wiener roast in our backyard on Monday night. Just can't seem to escape the camping atmosphere!! Of course, we finished the evening with smores and Hannah and Josh slept over at our place! FUN! FUN! FUN!

Holiday in the Shuswap 2007

All the makings for a fabulous holiday came together for 10 fun filled days: family and friends, great weather, the beach, waterslides, bumper boats, mini golf, and A LOT of yummy food!! We spent 10 nights at the Shuswap Provincial campground at Scotch Creek, BC from July 27th to August 6th with the Leboes. The Breedvelds joined us for 4 nights too and we had lots of fun with them! The campground is beautiful and I don't think we will ever tired of spending time there! Here is just a small sampling of pictures of our time there!
