Before we hit the sliding hill, we devoured a terrific brunch! Mike made panettone french toast, Chris made waffles, Dad made bacon, and Jim made eggs benedict! YUMMY!
A perfect day for sliding: a little fresh snow, mild temperature, and some sunshine too!
Baby Noah was so cute!
Of course, there had to be a virtual boxing tournament on Boxing Day! Ethan surprised us with his boxing talent, sweat and all!
On Christmas Eve, we hosted our traditional appie evening after the Christmas Eve service. Lots of food, kids and fun!
We had a great time opening the gifts under the tree on Christmas morning!
The whole family gathered at Grandma and Grandpa's later in the afternoon to exchange gifts and enjoy a fabulous turkey dinner! I think the Barbie and horse and carriage was Jim's favorite gift!
We tired ourselves and tried to work off dinner by playing with Chris' new Wii game! We finally left around midnight, a late night for Ethan, Josh and Hannah!
The Cedars Concert took place on December 14th. Maren and Alexandra were brave enough to go up together and perform in their preschool Christmas songs! Maren was quite upset when it was time to leave the stage and wanted to go back up to sing again...drama queen! Ethan sang with his kindergarten class, along with Josh and Micah!
The CHBC Sunday School Concert took place two days later on December 16th. Full of shepherds, sheep, angels, and more, the kids put on a cute show! We're wondering if Maren's personality will ever live up to the costume? The grand finale was more of a shouted rendition by a certain group of 4&5 year old boys, who shall remain nameless! Lots of fun!
We got busy in the first snowfall of the year and shovelled and made a snowman friend! The next morning, the sun came out with a clear blue sky and glistening snow, it was a beautiful day!
We carved our pumpkins in the afternoon, including the little ones that Grandpa grew in the garden!
The Princess Leah costume was pulled together at the last minute and the kids went to collect candy from a couple houses on our street! Afterwards we removed costumes and went up to the pumpkin carnival at the church, where candy and cupcakes were abundant!
Baby Noah got dressed up in his sweet pea costume, fresh from the garden!
Maren's preschool went on a field trip to a farm where we watched carrots being harvested, picked pumpkins and raspberries, and tasted lots of yummy fall treats! Little did we know that a black bear was present the entire time having a snooze in a tree just above! It was great!
